Harbio The Smurfs Sour!

smurf2I really smurf these new Smurfs Sour candies. They look like they will be very smurfy!

The bag says ‘New’ but I’m not sure how long these have really been around. It looks like the regular non-sour version has been around for a few years in the US, but this was the first time I saw any of them.

The candy comes in a nice bright blue bag with a very happy Smurf on the front. Pretty eye-catching.

The candies themselves are shaped as Smurfs with different colored hats. Red (papa Smurf), yellow (Smufette) and white (your regular ol’ everyday Smurf).

Now, I’m pretty sure smurfs are usually wearing white pants… but these are blue all the way down to the toes… so I guess we can assume they are nude Smufs… luckily they don’t have much details, in fact, I can’t really make out any body parts on the ones with the yellow hats.

smurfs3The consistency is very run of the mill Haribo Gummy. Not easily chewed like the Fruit Salad, but more spongy like their gummy bears, cola bottles or sour pacifiers. As a matter of fact, these remind me quite a bit about the sour pacifiers.

The flavor is rather non-descript. Blue candies often has some sort of raspberry flavor, and that’s true for the Smurfs too. It’s not a very strong flavor though. The red hats taste a bit strawberryish, while the white and yellow hats really doesn’t have any specific flavor that I can detect. The sourness is rather mild, I’d give them 2 out of 5 on a sour-meter.
